I have a WordPress site and a few external request comes from OpenX and those request apparently are slow down my site, I have ran a test at Pagespeed Insights and the overall result was 55 over 100 which I need to fix. One of the common issues running on this site is caching and gzip compression on external resources. My questions regarding this are: It’s possible to enable GZIP compression and browser caching on external resources? How? By external resources I mean a OpenX serving ads from a subdomain under the main domain for ex: main domain (where WordPress is): http://someurl.com, subdomain (where OpenX is): http://openx.someurl.com, any advice around this? Any config I should add to my .htaccess file?

Are you sure you want to cache ads? They may not change on schedule or rotate if cached. Check the OpenX docs. You can Gzip them by using the same directives in the root .htaccess file. But I doubt you want to cache them.
You have much more serious issues with site speed than ads: your site has a ridiculous number of images and your theme is very heavy with scripts, and you’re on a slow host.
