PublishPress Series
PublishPress Series organizes related WordPress posts into ordered series, helping publishers guide readers through longer stories and collections. My contribution spans 270+ closed pull requests, covering content organization, ordering, administration and ongoing maintenance.
From organizing posts to reading a series
- Series management: assigning posts, managing series and working with single- and multiple-series behavior.
- Ordering and publishing: series part numbers, draft reordering, scheduled content and the relationship between unpublished and published posts.
- Reader navigation: preserving the correct sequence and keeping unpublished parts out of public navigation.
Keeping the sequence consistent
An editor’s working order and a reader’s published sequence are not always identical. My work includes draft reordering, scheduled posts without part numbers, navigation affected by drafts and ordering when a post belongs to multiple series.
Draft reordering in PR #827 is one example. The broader contribution also includes series metabox ordering, multiple-series switching and fixes to the ordering and navigation workflow.
The plugin brings those workflows together with series settings and frontend presentation tools. My work with the team focuses on keeping content organization predictable as posts move through editing and publication.
